The Effect of Cassia on Hair

What is Cassia?

Cassia obovata (also known as senna obovata, cassia italica and senna italica) is a plant. It grows in eastern Africa and India. Cassia and Senna are often used as synonyms. Cassia plant powder has a lovely aroma comparable to freshly cut grass in the meadow.

Cassia contains a yellow molecule which can give white or gray hair a golden color. But it cannot make dark hair lighter. It is an excellent hair conditioner and can make your hair shiny and thick, and it is healthful for your scalp. It will keep your scalp in good condition and it will not feel itchy because cassia has antifungal and antibacterial properties. It restores damaged and chemically treated hair.

Cassia can also repair the hair that was damaged by swimming pool chlorine, chemical treatments and ultraviolet radiation (also called UV radiation) damaged hair from the sunshine.

How to Apply Cassia on Hair?

Mix cassia powder with warm water and apply it to hair. You can add lemon. It will not stain your skin. Leave it for three or four hours or you can leave it overnight. If your hair is black, it will not give any color. Cassia will condition and strengthen dark hair without changing the color. However, if your hair is gray, it will add to it a nice yellow golden tint.

If you want to dye your hair light brown, brown, dark brown or black, you should use henna and indigo.
