Henna

Henna is completely safe and has no side effects at all, as long as you are using pure, traditional henna.

There is only one henna plant, and its scientific, or botanical name is Lawsonia inermis.

You can achieve many different colors and shades with henna if you mix it with some other ingredients. However, pure henna will make your gray hair bright orange. Henna is also called mehendi.

Henna is an organic, natural hair dye. It covers gray hair well and makes hair healthy. It can deepen brown hair and add a beautiful reddish shine. To get dark brown and black you can mix henna with other herbs such as indigo, cassia or amla. Henna will keep your hair soft, shiny and will protect it from harmful elements.

Henna alone dyes hair orange-red, depending on the original color. Lighter hair turns a vivid orange while darker hair may turn auburn or mahogany; black hair may only show a subtle reddish sheen in sunlight.

Henna is a permanent dye. It will not lighten hair. It will make hair only darker. The more frequently you apply it, the darker your hair will become.

Henna will not damage your hair. On the contrary - it will make your hair stronger and will protect it from harmful chemicals that are found in shampoos, swimming-pools, acid rain, etc.

Henna is a plant. Henna is sometimes applied directly to the affected area for dandruff, eczema, scabies, fungal infections, and wounds.

In manufacturing, henna is used in cosmetics, hair dyes, and hair care products; and as a dye for nails, hands, and clothing.

People also use henna on the skin as temporary “tattoos.”

Henna contains substances that might help fight certain infections. There is also some information that henna might decrease the growth of tumors, prevent or reduce spasms, decrease inflammation, and relieve pain.

When henna is used on hair, it bonds to the keratin and can protect the hair shaft from sun damage. It also has antifungal properties and can eliminate dandruff and other scalp conditions

Henna is a plant. Its leaves are ground into powder. It is usually sold in natural food stores. Alternatively, it is possible to buy it online from a reliable supplier.

Please note that there is no such a thing like black henna. If it is 'black henna', it means that it contains chemicals. Beware! It is dangerous.
