Amla

First of all, we have to know that Amla has a few other names, and before you buy it, you have to know them (write them on a sheet of paper and take it with you when you go shopping):
  • Indian Gooseberry, Emblic Myrobalam (in English)
  • Emblica Offcinalis Gaerte (in Latin)
  • Amalki, Dhatri, Amalika (in Sanskrit)
  • Amalka; also Aamla (in Hindi)
  • Neellikkaai (in Tamil)
  • Phyllanthus Embilka.
Amla contains many useful ingredients but primarily it contains a lot of vitamin C (20 times more than in orange juice).
