Apple Cider Vinegar

What does apple cider vinegar do for your hair?

Apple cider vinegar does not dye hair, but it is good for your hair. You can mix it with coffee or/and black tea for darkening your hair. Although apple cider vinegar will not dye your hair, it will do a lot of good to your hair.

Apple cider vinegar can be used as a treatment for thinning hair. The acidic nature of vinegar may correct pH imbalances (a contributor to hair loss). Also, vinegar will add shine and fullness to your hair.

Step 1

Fill a 0.5-liter glass with warm water. Mix 4 tsp. of apple cider vinegar into the water and stir with a spoon.

Step 2

Place a clean, dry towel around your shoulders. Lean over the sink and pour the mixture into your hair. Saturate both the hair shafts and your scalp.

Step 3

Massage the scalp with your fingertips and work the vinegar solution through to cover your hair.

Step 4

Wrap the towel around your head and let the vinegar sit for fifteen or twenty minutes. Remove the towel and run a comb through your hair. This will move the mixture to the ends of the shafts.

Step 5

Wash your hair with a shampoo designed for your type hair. For example, if you hair tends to be dry, use a moisturizing shampoo. Then use conditioner, dry and style as usual.

You will need the following:

  • Half a liter of water
  • Four tsp. apple cider vinegar
  • Towel
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
Please note that the apple cider vinegar is also suitable for mixing with henna and indigo.
